Peter Bayly Wines is an artisanal winery in Calitzdorp producing handcrafted port-style wines and dry red blends in the Groenfontein Valley. Set beside the Nel's River beneath the Swartberg mountains, our farm cultivates Portuguese varietals including Touriga Nacional, Tinta Barroca, and Souzao across 1.2 hectares of shale and quartz soil. We rely on traditional winemaking practices, including natural fermentation in open lagares, foot treading, manual pigeage, and French oak barrel maturation.

De Krans Wines is a winery in Calitzdorp along Route 62 in the Klein Karoo. Our farm, established by the Nel family in 1890, produces a range of wines and Cape port-style selections alongside Premium Moscato Perlé and Touriga Nacional. Visitors can stop by our tasting room, dine at our bistro seated under the grapevines, follow the vineyard walking trail, or take part in seasonal summer fruit picking on the property.

Boplaas Winery and Distillery is a family-run winery and distillery in Calitzdorp in the Klein Karoo. Our cellar produces table wines, Portuguese varietals like Touriga Nacional and Tinta Barocca, traditional Cape vintage ports, and single malt and single grain whiskies. We host tastings in our air-conditioned cellar room on Saayman Street. Guests can sample our range of spirits, port-style wines, and table blends, paired with sharing platters of local cheeses, charcuterie, and roostebrood with jam. Our estate has operated in the foothills of the Swartberg Mountains since 1880, utilizing copper potstills to craft brandies and spirits alongside our vineyard production.

Calitzdorp Wine Cellar is a winery in Calitzdorp on Route 62. We produce a selection of white and red varietals alongside dessert and port-style wines reflecting the Klein Karoo. Our cellar doors are open for tastings seven days a week. On-site, Uitkyk Eatery operates from our stoep overlooking the Gamka Valley. The bistro serves lunch platters, savory pies, curries, and traditional Sunday lunches.

Axe Hill Winery (Pty) Ltd is a boutique winery in Calitzdorp on Wesoewer Road. Planted over 30 years ago in the Klein Karoo, our vineyard focuses on Portuguese grape varieties, including Touriga Nacional and Tempranillo. Our artisan winemaking process relies on small parcels of grapes handled with age-old techniques. We produce our wines by hand from harvest to bottling right on the farm. Wine tastings take place directly in our cellar and are conducted in person by the winemaker. Guests can pair their tasting with house-made tapas prepared in our farm kitchen. We are closed Mondays.
