About

Ogawa Miami is a sushi restaurant in Miami offering an omakase experience from our counter on NW 2nd Avenue. Diners sit directly facing our chefs as each course is prepared and presented. Our multi-course omakase dinner features nigiri alongside warm broths, tempura, and composed seafood plates, with offerings such as A5 wagyu beef, fatty tuna, and tamago paired with curated sake. We also accommodate dietary restrictions upon request. Beyond the intimate dining room and counter seating, our space features wall art and extends to a Japanese garden in the back.

Perfect for an intimate quiet evening. It was a very relaxed, comfortable atmosphere, well lit, and calm. We wanted something different for date night and this was the perfect little escape. The food was great, they will meet any dietary restrictions that you have. The chef was fantastic and the staff is wonderful. I was a little bit chilly and even brought me a cashmere shawl to use.

Ogawa is easily one of the best omakase experiences I’ve had in Miami. I went with two of my best friends on a Wednesday night, and we somehow got lucky enough to be the only guests there. It basically turned into a private omakase experience, which made an already special meal even more memorable. The chef was fantastic—interesting, engaging, and incredibly thoughtful about every dish. You could tell how much intention went into each course, and everything was beautifully executed. The sake selection was also incredible and complemented the meal perfectly. We even added a few extra pieces at the end because we weren’t quite ready for it to be over. Obviously, Ogawa is not an inexpensive night out, but this is one of those meals where you walk away feeling like it was absolutely worth it. For a special occasion or if you simply love great sushi, I could not recommend Ogawa more. One of Miami’s very best.

How do I begin? Miami is lucky to have a place like this. It truly feels like a portal to Japan. My wife and I dined here on Friday, May 15 at 9PM, and it was hands down one of the best omakase experiences we’ve ever had (and we've had dozens in America and Japan). From the moment we walked in, we were thoroughly impressed and ended the night with one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. If you love sushi, this is absolutely the place to be. Everything about the restaurant feels intentional and immersive. From the wall art and intimate counter seating to the peaceful Japanese garden in the back, every detail adds to the atmosphere. Even the train passing nearby somehow makes it feel like you’re sitting in a hidden sushi counter in Tokyo. It’s a must-try experience and worth every penny. The chef was warm, welcoming, and incredibly personable, a truly gracious host who made the evening feel special from start to finish. Watching the chefs work up close highlighted the level of craftsmanship, precision, and attention to detail behind every course served. One of the things that stood out most was how refined and balanced the entire omakase felt. Every dish showcased restraint and confidence rather than relying on gimmicks. The wagyu beef was the best bite of A5 weve had anywhere. The seafood quality was exceptional across the board. The shrimp nigiri was unbelievably sweet and delicate, the silver-skinned fish had perfect texture and knife work, and the fatty tuna courses completely melted in your mouth. The uni, caviar pairings, and layered flavors throughout the meal felt luxurious without ever becoming overwhelming. The pacing of the courses was also flawless. The warm dishes, broths, tempura, and composed plates broke up the nigiri beautifully and made the experience feel thoughtful and complete rather than repetitive. Even something as simple as the tamago had remarkable texture and flavor. Every course genuinely felt like edible art 🍣 This is the kind of omakase that reminds you why traditional sushi craftsmanship matters. Elegant, balanced, immersive, and genuinely unforgettable. Easily a top-tier omakase experience and one we cannot wait to return to. We are Grateful and thankful to have been able to try this restaraunt. Were counting down the days that we can return to Ogawa. A big thank you to the Chef and Staff from the bottom of our hearts. I cant even put it into words how amazing the food here is. Its incredibly exceptional.

Our experience at Ogawa was truly wonderful and unique to any other tasting course you might encounter in Miami that bills itself as Japanese. An Isao Tomika hit played as we stepped into the restaurant, greeted warmly by Chef Masayuki and team. The 12 seat bar is decorated with gorgeous objects and ceramics, which all feel chic without pretention, If the food wasn’t already a speaking for itself of true Japanese authenticity, there’s a Toto in the washroom. When you order sake, they offer you a box to choose your own personal sake cup for the meal. Each detail was specifically chosen to bring you through this portal into Japan. Each dish was more delicious than the last. The dishes throughout the course were delicate, balanced, cohesive .. each dish complementing each other harmoniously. elevates every other dish before it and after. First section of the tasting menu started with a refreshing amuse bouche and ended with an amazing surf and turf midpoint before we headed to the sushi. Each piece of sushi was fresh and hand crafted for you to eat as soon as the chef serves it to you. The rice level was perfect. You can trust that every plate, no matter how adventurous it could be to you (*ahem* the tiny chip-fried crab, claws in all, was great, i would eat 30 more) will be amazing. There is a great feeling of meticulous care in each component of the 3 hour seating. Chef Masayuki and team lead you through an unforgettable intimate Japanese culinary experience with fresh seasonal ingredients and fish direct from Tokyos fish market. The service was phenomenal and you feel very taken care of throughout the seating. It was so fun to engage with the team throughout the meal. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Matane!!!! I hope to be back sometime soon.

The vibe and atmosphere here are perfect; it's a really nice space and a very polished experience, and at the same time warm and welcoming rather than overly stiff or formal. The train rumbling by every so often honestly adds to the experience, reminding you that you're in this really nice sushi escape in the broader city. The omakase course isn't exclusively sushi—there are some cooked pieces as well, including (at least during this service) an excellent piece of wagyu beef. Certainly all very good, and I'd describe the fish selection as perhaps leaning on the safe and accessible side, nothing too wild or crazy with taste or texture, though that may also be a function of seasonality. The price point is appreciably higher than the owner's sister restaurant, but if it's within your budget it's a very well executed experience.
