This was an experience I have never had before. The restaurant lives up to its name being tucked behind another restaurant called The taco Sand. I arrived at the reservation time and within a few minutes I was welcomed into a priavte room by the Sommelier, Mika Nasako. The wood flooring, walls and ceiling made for a warm and inviting atmosphere. Behind the counter was Chef Seijun Okano and Catalina Vidal who made my sushi experience the best I ever had. The sake pairings were great. This was my second 1-star Michelin restaurant and my first 1-star Michelin sushi restaurant. The focus and care definitely showed in every piece from start to finish. Seijun was the lead chef. He briefly explained his background earlier in the dining experience. If I am not mistaken, before settling in Miami he was in California, before that, Hawaii and before that Hiroshima. Though I have never been to japan before, I imagine this dining experience is as close to what you would get to Japan made sushi at a Michelin star level. Thank you.🍣
We went to Hiden for the omakase experience. The fish was fresh, the presentation was beautiful, and the atmosphere is very intimate. Overall it was good, but in my opinion it was nothing to die for. It’s nice to try at least once if you enjoy omakase, but it wasn’t something that completely blew me away.
It took me three years to finally make it here and every second of the wait was worth it. This is, without question, the best omakase experience I’ve ever had. Each course was flawless: incredibly fresh, melt-in-your-mouth perfection, with a level of quality and execution that’s simply on another tier. Every bite felt thoughtful, precise, and special. Yes, it’s pricey but this is one of those rare dining experiences that truly justifies the cost. From the food to the pacing to the attention to detail, everything was done right. If you’re even remotely passionate about sushi, this is a must-do at least once in your life. Absolutely unforgettable.
I had such a great omakase experience here. The entrance is hidden behind the taco stand restaurant in Wynwood - such a fun and unexpected touch - and you receive a private code with your reservation to get in. The space is small and intimate with just eight seats, which makes the whole meal feel special and interactive. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and delicious, and the hospitality was warm and welcoming. We even met some amazing people at the counter. I would def come back!
