Celebrated my wife’s birthday at Ariete in Coconut Grove and it was a special night. Parking on those Grove streets takes a little patience, but once we found a spot we were only a few minutes from the door. The atmosphere is warm and polished. The dining room captain greeted us and handed us off to our server, Nick, who walked us through a tighter menu and described everything clearly. Drinks were excellent. I had a mint mixed cocktail; my wife had the mango and tamarind cocktail. Both were tasty and well balanced. For appetizers we shared the Caviar Pastelito and the grilled oysters in uni butter and bone marrow. For dinner we had the Rabo Encendido and the Berkshire pork chop. Flavor was very good on both plates. We finished with Ariete’s famous candy cap mushroom flan and espresso. They brought my wife a piece of cake with a candle. Nick took several photos, and the captain also went out of his way to take pictures of us inside and outside. Price is on the high side, but it was worth it for the food, the service, and the occasion.
