Beautiful. Serene. Inspiring. Stunning scenery/views. Exquisite gardens and lawns. Lovely walkways thru trees and shrubbery. Gorgeous roses and flower gardens. Agapanthus just starting to bloom. Unique play grounds. Plenty of shade. Friendly staff. Variety of venues, however we only popped in just before closing time so we didn't get to experience any of them. But it all looks very inviting. Definitely on the bucket list for another day. Hopefully soon.
Absolutely stunning & picturesque vineyard with the most beautiful garden and seating areas. We visited early afternoon & had coffee from the barn and sat in the beautiful garden area under the trees. Please fully walk around the beautiful premises, there are so many wonderful areas; wine tasting room, dining room, coffee area, gift shop, bakery etc etc. The architecture & design thought that has gone in to this, is wonderful!
What a lovely place! Katie was a gracious and knowledgeable wine tasting hostess! The Reserve Collection Syrah and Chardonnay were our favourites.
Came here for lunch while visiting a variety of estates. This is wine country and there is no shortage of fantastic spots. The atmosphere was pleasant. I had an open face steak sandwich and the accompanied Cab-Sav. It was delicious. The Estate is great to walk around and they have a gallery. There are two restaurants but we are at the bakery. Friendly service.
La Motte Winery offers a refined and enjoyable estate experience in the heart of Franschhoek. The property is beautifully maintained, with manicured gardens, historic buildings, and scenic mountain views that create a relaxed and elegant atmosphere. The estate is well laid out and easy to explore, making it a pleasant place to spend time even without participating in wine tastings. The restaurant and deli are definite highlights, offering high-quality food made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Service throughout the estate was professional and friendly, and the facilities were clean and well organised. Although the estate can become busy during peak times, it remains well managed and does not feel overcrowded. La Motte stands out as a polished and welcoming destination in Franschhoek and is well worth a visit for anyone looking to enjoy the setting, food, and overall atmosphere of one of the valley’s well-established wine estates.
