Wood-fired artisanal pizza and small batch craft beers
SO. GOOD. We all loved our food so much and our server was amazing! The ricotta gnocchi (chef’s special) and the Bianca pizza were among our favs! Everything was incredible. We will definitely be back anytime we drive through Wausau in the future!
Food is fantastic but expensive. Usually send about $40-50 per person with one drink. Drinks are super cool and very tasty. Upscale food and pricing but everyone comes in their regular music/bicycle fest T-shirts and jeans. Beers are super neat and a good variation of lagers and other light beers.
After an entire weekend of incredible food in Wausau, Red Eye Brewing Company absolutely held its own as another 10/10 experience. I’ve wanted to come here for a long time because I kept hearing good things about their gluten-free options and safety protocols, and as someone with celiac disease, that matters a lot. Being able to comfortably order wings AND a burger without feeling anxious honestly made my night. I got the buffalo wings with their blue cheese sauce, which was incredible, along with a burger topped with local bacon and sweet potatoes on the side. Every single thing we ordered was fantastic. What really stood out to me though was the atmosphere and staff. Everyone was so welcoming, fun, and genuinely kind. It’s the kind of place that immediately feels like part of a cool local scene without trying too hard. Their liquor selection was also seriously impressive. They had bottles and options I just don’t see in most places around here. Also, whoever was in charge of the absolutely elite 2000s throwback playlist deserves a raise because the soundtrack alone was a vibe. Their menu overall is excellent, and it’s honestly rare to find a restaurant that both takes strict dietary restrictions seriously AND still serves food that feels exciting, indulgent, and genuinely well-crafted. Usually gluten-free options feel like an afterthought. That absolutely was not the case here. I already can’t wait to come back.
Second time here and would come again for sure. The mushroom tartine is a must. Most if not all ingredients are locally sourced and they tell you where they come from on the menu. The wood fire pizzas are amazing and this time I tried the veggie Rueben burger which was house made from sweet potato and beet. And a side of kimchi green beans and cashews. Cool vibes, great beer. Clean and sleek but welcoming. Jordan our server was super helpful with recommendations.
Great meal for lunch today. We started with the Mushroom Tartine which was a real treat?, it had a hint of citrus that fun! My wife had the Wisconsin burger, I had the Korean Chicken sandwich and we did sharesies ;) to end our meal we split a piece of carrots cake. The frosting carried the plate... really enjoyed everything!
