While there are similar choices in amenities and pricing, I don't look beyond Laquinta Wausau. Consistent. Dependable. Always willing to offer help with any part of my stays. Rooms updated a few short years ago. The bedding, clearly my favorite. Unbelievably comfortable. I'm somewhat of a light sleeper. Not here. Extremely well chosen mattresses. Always well kept exterior, lobby and rooms. And, isn't that what you expect when booking somewhere? My choice is and has been easy.

We had a good stay overall. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the pool and hot tub were a lot of fun. The staff was friendly, and we had no major issues during our visit. The biggest disappointment was the room. We specifically called ahead and booked what we were told was the largest room with a sitting area, and paid extra for it. In reality, the "sitting area" was just a chair in the corner. When I asked about it, I was told that all of the rooms are actually the same size. That was frustrating because we paid more based on a description that wasn't accurate. The only other downside is that there isn't an elevator, which is something to keep in mind if you're staying on an upper floor with a lot of luggage. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would consider staying again, but I hope the room descriptions are updated so future guests know exactly what they're paying for.

Rooms were very clean and well thought out. Price was resonable. Hot tub maybe could have used either stronger jets, but was clean and perfect for what we needed.

Stayed here often and breakfast isn't getting better. Not sure why hot breakfast isn't hot. Tempature on warmers is not accurately reflecting the food. Eggs are not hot enough to melt cheese??? - it could be so much better if it at least was hot enough to pass food inspector's check. Who ever thought there would be no microwave available? - at least guests could heat their own food. Generally fine place to stay. McDonalds is across the parking lot.

Service was great and room was comfy and clean. Only did not give full 5 star because the soap in bathroom was empty (one pump left). Only other issues is the flood lights outside the windows. They are pointed at the building and on all night. It made it like it was daytime outside all night and lit the room even with the curtains closed.
