If you are looking for high end and fancy, this ain't it. But, if you are looking for casual with a local bar feeling, you found it! The Hub is dark, there is great music, and enough chatter to keep you entertained. And Jamie makes the best rum runner this side of the Caribbean!
Definitely a historic landmark in Tampa. Living in Tampa, for the past 32 years, I was able to visit the original location quite a bit through the mid to late ‘90s. It still has the same gritty feel, colorful, but friendly bartenders, and eclectic patrons. Drinks start out strong and only get stronger the better you tip. Be aware, it is cash only.
One of the oldest bars in Tampa. I think it is safe to say that this place can be classified as a dive bar. While they don't have a happy hour, they do have good prices and pour stiff drinks (double pours). This place is also attached to a packy store in case you need to grab a bottle of liquor to go.
