Traditional pizza with locally sourced toppings
Everything about our dinner tonight was 5 stars. From the presentation of the drinks & food to the taste of the appetizers & pizza. Not one thing was disappointing & Brittany our waitress was amazing!!! She was very attentive & friendly, which is hard to find nowadays. We will definitely visit again soon
Overall, the food here has been amazing though last visit, a couple of dishes were a bit heavy on the lemon. My group flagged it first, and honestly I had to agree, which says a lot coming from someone who puts lemon on everything. The Joey Bananas pizza is probably my favorite thing on the menu, but I think they used to have a broccolini pizza that I would absolutely give up a finger for. That said, I think they source from local, seasonal vendors, so if it's not on the menu right now, I'm holding out hope it'll make a comeback.
I stopped by Salvatore’s Pizza in Sun Prairie on my way back from out of town and decided to do pickup so I could take it home and enjoy it there. I’ve been to the downtown Madison location and also Monona before, so I’m pretty familiar with their menu. What I’ve always liked about Salvatore’s is that their pizzas have creative toppings, they stay consistent, and there’s always some kind of seasonal menu that rotates every couple months. This time I went with the gf Figgy Piggy, which I’ve had before. Gluten free is only a 10” crust, but the combination of figs with the slightly salty prosciutto and gorgonzola, plus the pumpkin seeds and fresh arugula on top, is just an incredible mix. Honestly, you don’t even feel like it’s gf they do a really good job. I also got the 16” supreme, which is a staple, and added ricotta on top. That addition makes a big difference adds another layer of flavor with the olives and Italian sausage. Super easy parking, ordered through the app while driving into Sun Prairie & the order was ready right when I got there. Picked up, got home & enjoyed great as always. Keep up the good work guys!
The Pizza is the main draw, here. Sun Prairie location is good. Wide variety of pizzas. The beers on tap were pretty average, and service was a tad above average. If you've got hunger and thirst pangs for a pizza and a beer, this will do it for you.
