Our paths include shorter segments of roughly a third of a mile that connect to form a loop of about 1.5 miles for walking and running. A hidden little gem!! Great spot for an evening walk or run. There's some lookout points and multiple trails. Each trail is about 0.3 miles. If you loop them all together and loop back to where you started you could walk maybe 1.5 miles. Some parts of the trail are one person wide but the main path is 2-3 people wide.
A nice walk even though it was extremely windy today. I couldn’t help notice the need for more nesting boxes. Tree swallows were swarming the one box along the trail.
Patrick Marsh is an interesting place to visit and to get in some good walking. For those not familiar with the Sun Prairie area, finding the two parking areas can be a challenge, especially for those who will get to the area from Hwy 151. For the main North parking area, exit from Hwy 151 on N Bristol St, then north on Bristol under 151, then right on Wilburn, a sharp right on Columbus St, then left on Stone Quarry Rd to the entrance with a sizeable parking area. The south parking area is along the north side of Shuster Rd, west of Town Hall Dr, where there are several marked parking spots.
We loved this park. It's scenic path near the lake was divine. We barely noticed how close we were to the highway.
