The Manor House Inn is perfectly quaint and tucked away in the Litchfield Hills. The staff is lovely and Blair ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and the accommodations were comfortable and spacious. This is a perfect place for a relaxing getaway.

Outstanding overall experience but especially superb was the food and interaction with the innkeeper. All of our needs were met with attentiveness and enthusiasm. What a neat spot for 4 days. Loved the waterfall hike at Campbell Falls State Park.

Our stay at the Manor House Inn for my brother’s wedding weekend was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the inn’s historic charm, timeless character, and welcoming atmosphere. We stayed in the newly renovated Clemens Room, which was beautifully appointed, incredibly comfortable, and felt like a home away from home. Every detail was thoughtfully designed to preserve the property’s rich history while providing modern comfort.
What truly made our experience unforgettable was the warm hospitality of Blair and Chef Fell. Their genuine kindness and attention to detail made us feel like honored guests rather than visitors. It is clear that they take great pride in creating a memorable experience for everyone who walks through their doors.
The dining experience was equally remarkable. The food was locally sourced, expertly prepared, and absolutely delicious. Each meal reflected not only culinary skill but also a true passion for hospitality. Every dish was cooked to perfection and served with a sense of love and joy that could be felt in every bite.
If you are looking for a place that combines historic elegance, modern comfort, outstanding food, and heartfelt hospitality, the Manor House Inn is a destination not to be missed. We left feeling refreshed, cared for, and already looking forward to our next visit.

It's cliché to write that I hesitate to leave a glowing review for the Manor House Inn because I fear it will become too popular and I'll never be able to get a reservation there again, but honestly, that thought did cross my mind. The Manor House Inn is fabulous. My husband and I spent a cold and rainy Memorial Day weekend there and we ended up being delighted about the gloomy weather because it meant we had no excuse not to hang out indoors, relax, and enjoy the many amenities of this charming, comfortable, top-notch inn. Everything in this Tudor-revival manor home (built in 1898 I think) was spectacular: beautiful rooms, comfortable bed, cheery, crackling fire in the great room, lovely cherry-wood fixtures throughout, games, books, snacks, lively conversation with fellow guests, and freshly-baked oatmeal cookies served to us while we read our books by the fire. We wrote letters (that Blair, the innkeeper kindly posted for us!), played chess, and completed a fiendishly difficult wooden puzzle.
And then there was the treat of breakfast. Oh my. I can still conjure the taste of the thick-cut pain perdu with blueberries and maple-sauteed sausage of our first morning there. Cheddar and bacon omelette was the next morning. Both breakfasts were not only delicious but hearty and fortifying.
Maybe that's the word to leave this review on: our stay at the Manor House Inn was fortifying. We left (still in the rain) to drive north to Boston to pick up our daughter and then keep on driving some 500 miles more to our home in the south. Our two days at the Manor House Inn were a welcome respite in the middle of a marathon road trip. Heartfelt thanks to Blair and Fell for taking such good care of us. I can't wait to come back. I even hope it's raining again.

My fiancé and I recently celebrated our 9-year anniversary at the Manor House Inn, and it was one of the most thoughtful and memorable getaways we've experienced in Connecticut.
From the moment you walk through the door, you can feel the intention behind every detail. The inn is warm, cozy, and welcoming—a place that immediately encourages you to slow down, unplug, and be present. As two busy entrepreneurs, finding quality time together isn't always easy, and this stay gave us exactly what we needed: a chance to reconnect, rest, and enjoy each other's company.
What stood out most was how thoughtfully curated the experience is. From the beautiful décor and locally sourced food to the coloring books, conversation prompts, historical books, and recommendations for exploring the area, every detail feels purposeful. The grounds are equally beautiful, offering plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature, reflect, and simply be still.
A special thank you to Rachel, Blair, and the entire Manor House team for their hospitality and care. They helped create an experience that felt both luxurious and deeply personal.
It's easy to think you need to travel far to truly get away, but the Manor House Inn is a reminder that some of the best escapes are right here in Connecticut. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, a peaceful retreat, or simply a place to unwind and recharge, I highly recommend staying here.
We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already looking forward to our next visit.
