Elcielo Restaurant Miami is a Latin American restaurant in Miami. In our chic space with river views, we serve dishes that incorporate molecular gastronomy techniques.
Our star rating was based on the expectations of what a Michelin Starred restaurant should be. Appetizers, on point the tree of life as advertised and that butter wow! Loved the take on the homeland buñuelos.
Main course, had the lamb chops… would get 5 stars anywhere else but felt it needed more elevation.
Desserts, slightly underwhelming. Points for the use of the local fruit and creativity.
Service, here is where I could not believe we were in a starred restaurant where it’s all about expectations and service. I should not have to be the one telling the waiter where to place the plates based on who ordered what and when I didn’t we had to exchange them amongst ourselves.
There was zero synchronization through out the service.
So again, yes… had there been no expectations of a true Michelin dining experience then 5 stars all the way.
Hoping it was an off night and as a proud Colombian will at some point give it another try.

I brought my wife to Elcielo to celebrate her birthday, and what an incredible evening it turned out to be! From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for something special. The restaurant is intimate and beautifully designed, with an inviting atmosphere that sets the stage for an extraordinary dining experience. The hospitality was just as impressive, warm, genuine, and attentive without ever feeling overwhelming.
We chose the 18-course tasting experience, and it was nothing short of a culinary journey. Every course seemed to awaken a different sense, with beautiful layers of flavor, enticing aromas, and fascinating contrasts in temperature and texture. Some bites were delicate and subtle, while others delivered unexpected bursts of flavor that made us pause and savor the moment. The creativity and attention to detail were remarkable, but what I appreciated most was how the menu celebrated Colombian culture and culinary traditions. Hearing the stories and inspiration behind each dish made the experience even more meaningful. We weren't simply enjoying a meal; we were getting a taste of Colombia's history, creativity, and rich culinary heritage.
And then there were the unforgettable interactive moments! The "Tree of Life" bread presentation, "Rose Petals," and the beautifully crafted desserts brought an element of surprise and playfulness to the evening. But the absolute highlight for my wife was the Chocotherapy experience. There's something wonderfully indulgent and almost childlike about enjoying rich, silky chocolate directly from your fingers. It was unexpected, delicious, and one of those moments that had us smiling from ear to ear. Watching my wife enjoy that experience was a highlight of the celebration for me.
The entire dinner, including the special birthday touches, lasted approximately two hours, yet never felt rushed. Each course flowed naturally into the next, and the staff did an exceptional job explaining the ingredients, inspiration, and traditions behind what we were tasting. Their knowledge and passion added another dimension to the meal. The cocktail pairings were beautifully considered, and I personally enjoyed an outstanding mocktail experience. The drinks complemented the food rather than competing with it, allowing the flavors of each course to shine.
Elcielo is certainly a splurge, but this is one of those experiences where you walk away feeling that every detail was worth it. The combination of inventive cuisine, thoughtful storytelling, beautiful presentation, and genuine hospitality made my wife's birthday truly memorable.
If you appreciate food as more than just something to eat, and love a dining experience that engages your senses, sparks curiosity, and creates lasting memories, Elcielo Miami deserves a place on your list.
Five stars don't feel like enough. We left with full hearts, satisfied taste buds, and a wonderful memory we'll be talking about for a long time.

Just had the most amazing meal! 🤩 The halibut was cooked to perfection, and those BBQ ribs were so tender and flavorful. An exceptional experience from beginning to end. El Cielo Miami exceeded all of my expectations. The food was absolutely spectacular—every dish was beautifully presented, creative, and perfectly balanced in flavor. You can truly appreciate the quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail that goes into every preparation. More than simply going out for dinner, it truly feels like a complete culinary experience.
The service was also outstanding. The entire staff was extremely professional, attentive, and friendly throughout the evening, always paying attention to every detail without being intrusive. They made us feel genuinely welcomed and well taken care of from the moment we arrived until the very end.
I highly recommend El Cielo Miami to anyone looking for something unique, sophisticated, and memorable in Miami. Excellent food, impeccable presentation, and first-class service. I would definitely come back!

Fun and elegant place. The food settings are very playful for some dish dishes and others are very elegant. The wine pairing is very boring, it’s something that any one can already find on their local wine store. Most of the wine they serve us I have already tried 😬
