Excellent preservation of the "Milwaukee" depot with a lot of interesting information and having a Wisconsin State Trail in Menomonie is a treasure! Often confused, the Junction Trail is to the north of here.

This is another one of our favorite "local" locations to go to for a short daytime walk; the Red Cedar Trail is beautiful. It also has restrooms that accommodate my scooter! My husband gets his exercise and I get to be at his side on my mobility scooter enjoying the fresh air, Sunshine and God's creations. Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein: (Isa 42:5)

We parked here while we biked on the Red Cedar State Trail to the Chippewa River connection. The Depot has a traditional historic railroad style exterior but unfortunately was closed because of COVID19. We had a picnic at the adjacent lovely Riverside Park.

Nice historic building put to use as an oasis at the trailhead. It reminded me much of the Sparta Information Center which is located on the trailhead of the Elroy-Sparta State Trail. The bathroom was clean and the water fountain was cold. Upon entering, I was greeted by a kind hostess who shared information about the trail and area opportunities. There were several nicely preserved animals along with tourist swag. It provided a nice break from the hot sun halfway on my ride.
