Lets start with that this restaurant is located in Bantam CT. We are well traveled and have eaten all over the world from Tuscany to Paris, NYC to London and California and everywhere in between. This was one of the most ridiculously pretentious over hyped places I have ever been. I understand and appreciate fine dining and tasting menus. I have eaten at many many over the years. The food quality was good. The portions were ridiculously small and not at all as described when they were presented. The "special lasagna" was dry, had no beef bolognaise as they described or bechamel sauce. It was dry and TINY. The shrimp risotto did not contain a single piece of shrimp. NOT ONE. I could go on and on. There is no point. The best thing here was the bread service and the wine. Skip this pretentious place and eat at Arethusa Tavola up the road. You will get a much better meal, and service that isn't acting like they think they are at French Laundry, which by the way that is not even how they act at French Laundry. Oh, and they took over an hour in-between courses and then as we were eating, they started shutting all the lights in the restaurant as to say hurry up we are closing. Absolutely ridiculous. Ignore the James Beard Award nomination and go ANYWHERE else.
