The food was expensive. The last two nights we were in town the wait was an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes. The atmosphere was laid back and relaxing. The musician, I think his name was Miguel played music and was a great musician! Ronny was our server and he did a great job. The food portions were plentiful. Honestly I should have shared my plate it was generously portioned. It was a family friendly restaurant and I liked how they had multiple ring toss stations next to the "ugly grouper" statue.

Ok guys I went to see what the fuss is about and its gotta be the spot! I got these 2 pork sliders with pineapple coleslaw- holy moly. SOOOOO GOOOOD. Also got fish and chips and that fish was so tender I cant even explain it. While its outside beaming at 90ish degrees, the place had these massive fans to cool us off. We went late afternoon and its packed. Great service, great food! Would come back!

Great laid back spot with good music and atmosphere. We had the shrimp stuffed crab which was delicious but definitely think it would have been better if baguette was toasted. For our entrees, I had the famous grouper tacos with a side of fries which was delicious. My wife had the Grouper Polynesian Boat (substituted with Mahi). Everything was great except the mahi was a little bit on the dry side. For dessert we had key lime pie which was a solid 9/10. Would definitely come back again!

Prior to coming to AMI, I discovered Ugly Grouper online and wanted to go here. Then I read reviews and people said it's a tourist trap and the food wasn't good and I was almost discouraged but I decided that I wanted to go check it out for myself! We went last week around 3pm on a Friday, it was busy but not packed. They had live music and we loved the entire vibe of the place. We had the ugly cheese logs, the nachos, fried green tomatoes and the cheese crusted grouper tacos. We thoroughly enjoyed the food. Now is this the best food I ever had, no but it was absolutely tasty and it's worth stopping in! I also tried the Ugly Grouper Blonde Ale which was a solid beer. Overrall this was a great experience and I would consider this a must stop if you're in the area looking for casual dining with a nice fun atmosphere and solid food! Service was fast and everyone working here was very pleasant!
