Historic English sparkling wine estate on South Downs chalk
We took the vineyard tour on a Sunday afternoon in mid September, the weather was beautiful and our guide Clive was very knowledgeable on all aspects of wine production at the Hambledon Wine Estate. The tour was very comprehensive and at the end we sat down and enjoyed some wine tasting. We had two large dogs with us who were able to go on the majority of the tour. The tour is excellent value for money and very enjoyable.
We had a fantastic tour led by the wonderful Clive. It was great to see this unique place and learn all about its history the processes that go to make their lovely sparkling wine. Getting to try some at the end of the tour in the restaurant was the cherry on the top. Very much recommended.
Visited this amazing and beautiful place with my partner, Michael Barnes on Sunday 9th August. A 2 hours tour and a plate of local cheeses & chutney to complement the wine tasting was booked too. Clive, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. We also had the best cup of takeaway coffee purchased at the venue restaurant on our way to the tour. We did also purchased a bottle of Classic Cuvée to drink back at home. We found all the staff at the restaurant, shop & reception were very attentive and had a very high standard of customer service. A wonderful and educational experience. We particularly like the organic approach. We look forward to go back and attend other events in the near future. Thank you. Best wishes.
Gorgeous place. A stunning venue with beautiful views, amazing food and top class sparkling / wine choice. Party of 6, celebrating the father in laws’ 80th birthday. Everything was superb although the excellent staff did find it difficult to cope once the restaurant became busier. We will definitely be back and highly recommend although it’s pricey.
Ate here yesterday as a birthday treat after visiting approximately 2 years ago! I have to say the difference is night and day!! When we last visited the restaurant had not yet been constructed and it seems there has been considerable investment by another company now. As a result the building is beautiful with timber beams and a great ambience! The views over the vineyard are beautiful especially at the time we visited where you get to see the sunset. THE FOOD - Wow!! I love my food and it's nice when you go out to eat and have a special experience, this was exactly that! My starter, main and desert were all amazing!! Melt in your mouth with flavours and textures you can't create at home! I ordered pigs cheek to start, ginifoul as my main and lemon cream meringue as a desert and I loved each course, the presentation was great and the flavours out of this world! THE SERVICE - Impeccable from start to end, very polite and friendly staff that truly made the experience extra special! THE MENU - The only thing I would say is the menu changes so check before you visit as there may not be anything to your taste, as an example the pork cheek was the only starter to my taste as a starter but it was amazing! Check first to avoid disappointment! Thank you for a memorable meal and visit.
