Wow wow wow. What an amazing surprise! We wanted some light breakfast and coffee in a beautiful spot and stumbled across the chilli shed. Such a hidden beautiful gem, highly recommend. First of all, their sourdough is the best I’ve ever had, we then got a pain au chocolat - which came out hot and warm which immediately makes me wanna give 5 stars. Breakfast was great and the coffee and the views and service were exceptional. One of favorite spots

A truly calming atmosphere surrounded by beautiful nature. The fresh pressed juice was delicious and refreshing. We loved the thick soft homemade sourdough with paramaham and the softest creamiest scrambled eggs. A lovely touch seeing chillies growing on site. Friendly and professional staff made the experience even better. Stellenbosch’s hidden gem!

It’s a hidden gem, tranquil, with an amazing casual menu with more of a breakfast/lunch offering. Probably best fresh pastries I’ve ever eaten. A great place to quietly enjoy a coffee, read a book, under an beautiful large tree. Wish I’d found it sooner, will be a regular.

Ernie Els Restaurant and the Chilly Shed My wife and I visited Ernie Els Wines without an appointment, wanting just coffee and to check out the place. It is nestled in a beautiful part of the Winelands, with enormous rocks, beautiful surroundings and immaculate gardens, at least next to the long winding road leading up to the restaurant. The building itself is spacious, almost majestic and beautifully decorated. It was a privilege to visit such a well-kept establishment. The staff were very friendly, and after consulting with the floor manager, Minicha. She accommodated us with a nice table – just for coffee and dessert -- and she was very professional and helpful. We decided to book a table for the following day (Sunday, 12 Jan). Before lunch the next day, we popped into the Chilly Shed on the property, also situated in the valley among indigenous and lovely trees. The waiter, Reason, warned us that they don't serve breakfast, but we were there just for the coffee. Great was our surprise when we were almost done. Reason gave my wife a lovely bouquet of fynbos flowers which were freshly picked while we were drinking coffee. I've included photos of them below. This was such a lovely gesture; we will always cherish this memory and definitely come back! The lunch on Sunday was exquisite – we both had different meat cuts that were precisely prepared, juicy, very, very tender, and amazingly tasteful. Kudos to the chef. The waiter was professional, and Minicha popped in every now and then to check on us. Thanks for the wonderful experience, the friendly and professional staff and a lovely setting!
