We had the lamb curry in both mild and medium, as well as the prawn curry. For the price we paid, the quality and amount of food we received were an amazing surprise! Everything was incredibly flavourful, with just the right amount of spice for both the mild and medium curries. There was a generous amount of meat, and the balance between the curry and sauce was perfect. Definitely worth every cent! The staff were also very friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made the experience even better. My only suggestion would be to order rice rather than roti, as you only get one roti, whereas the rice portion is much more generous. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a proper, delicious Durban curry! 🍛

I was very disappointed with vegetarian dishes. No fresh veggies was served. Frozen veg was hard and tasteless. Service is poor even though it was mentioned.

Order two bunny chows, Curry was disgusting!!! Potatoes were like rock Meat undercooked! Do not waste your money

Everything is absolutely terrible I would never go back. They brought our food then after a while the roti and naan by then the curry got cold the bunny's are horrible as well as everything we ordered never again

Last night 12 October 2025, I ordered from Brick & Coal Stanger Mall via Mr D, I ordered the paneer Makhini, at first I was extremely skeptical to order from them after all the bad reviews from others previously but I was under the impression they under new owners and management. They was obviously missing the main spice ingredient. To my surprise i was basically sent a "rubber boil soup" never in all my life have I ever seen or tasted something so horrible. This was R95. As a business owner myself I never put reviews up but this was just terrible. It was not edible. The entire order was just disgusting inc the rice that was hard and also not edible. My order was around R176 I absolutely regret ordering from this establishment. Now I see they remover all the paneer options on Mr D, its a little bit to late. I am absolutely angry & disgusted.
