LUST Bistro & Bakery is a bistro in Simondium situated along Klapmuts - Simondium Road. We serve breakfast and lunch menus featuring freshly baked bread baskets, burgers with chilli jam and pickled onions, flatbreads, and spicy chicken livers alongside fruit and herb-infused juices. Our dining space includes working fireplaces for colder days, and we host tailor-made private functions and events. We operate as a cashless venue.
We had the absolute best experience at Lust Bistro & Bakery. From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. Our waiter - Antoinette, was so friendly and genuinely caring - she made sure we were comfortable and kept the fireplace nice and warm for us the entire time. It made such a cozy difference on this cold Cape Town day.
And the food? Easily the best quality we've had in a while. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. You can tell they really care about what they serve. Highly recommend!

I would highly recommend Lust Bistro & Bakery.
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm, friendly smiles from every member of staff, instantly making us feel welcome. The setting is absolutely beautiful;cozy, inviting, and perfectly located. On a cold winter's day, the glowing fireplaces created the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed and memorable breakfast.
The breakfast menu offers excellent variety, but the standout for me was undoubtedly the spicy chicken livers—the best I've ever had. They were packed with flavour, perfectly cooked, and had just the right amount of heat. The variety bread basket was a real treat, while the crispy bacon and mushrooms complemented the meal perfectly. We finished off with two fresh, healthy fruit and herb-infused juices, which were delicious and refreshing.
A special thank you to Russell, our waiter, who was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and professional. He truly made our breakfast experience special. Wesley, one of the floor managers, was also attentive and ensured everything ran smoothly.
We will definitely be back. Breakfast was outstanding, and we're already looking forward to returning to try the lunch and dinner menus.

Best mushrooms on toast EVER!
The mushrooms were flavoured with pesto and Parmesan on lightly toasted sourdough with a perfectly cooked poached egg sprinkled with leaves.
Utterly delicious.
The staff were warm, friendly and attentive.
The setting couldn’t be more calm and beautiful.

PS the bread and coffee from the bakery were also top notch as well as the delicious Apricot jam and marmalade I brought to take home.
