Babylonstoren Garden Spa is a day spa in Simondium set within a bamboo forest on the Babylonstoren farm. We offer treatments including bamboo massage packages, duo massages, and prenatal sessions, alongside spa amenities such as an indoor-outdoor pool, sauna, steam room, salt room, and jacuzzi. Guests can relax on poolside loungers with fresh fruit, tea, and drinks or food ordered directly from the neighboring restaurant.
We had a couples duo massage with Gail and Candice. They were amazing! I received a prenatal from Gail and she made me comfortable with a pregnancy pillow while on my side. The pool afterwards was so relaxing, we could’ve stayed all night. Everyone we met was lovely. It is a bit of a walk from the car park, but you get to stroll through their gorgeous gardens and enjoy the mountains.

I visited this place and booked the Bamboo Massage package (R2,800 for 90 minutes).
I really enjoyed the massage. The therapist and the rest of the staff were great and did an excellent job. There’s also a pool on the property, part of which is outdoors, as well as a salt room and a sauna. In the relaxation area, guests are offered a little bit of fresh fruit, tea, and water. You can also order food from the neighboring restaurant and have it by the pool.
Perhaps I’m still not used to how quickly prices are rising in Cape Town, but I felt the price was slightly too high — probably around 20-30% more than I would expect for the experience. Then again, perhaps the higher price helps create a more exclusive atmosphere and keeps the facilities from becoming overcrowded.
One thing I didn’t like was the parking situation. You can’t park close to the spa and have to leave your car in a more distant parking area, then walk through the farm and gardens to get there. It’s not a problem on the way in, but after all the treatments, when you’re relaxed and warmed up from the sauna, having to walk 15 minutes back to the car, especially in cloudy and chilly weather, isn’t particularly pleasant.
It would be great if the spa had a dedicated parking area for guests, especially since there is already an asphalt road and reasonable space near these buildings.

Beautiful day at this spa. We had the Duo massage which was brilliant and then spent the day using the facilities such as steam room, sauna, jacuzzi and pool.
We had a delicious salad for lunch. It would be nice to have more options on the menu. But totally recommend!

The garden spa really makes you feel like you are in the garden, surrounded by nature, fresh air and the mountains. There is quite a walk to get here though from the parking area so be prepared to walk about 1km. The massage itself was professional and up to standard. The pool and sauna/steam room facilities are fantastic however are due a refresh which I believe is happening in June 2026. I loved the service by the pool where you can get bottomless free bottled water and there is a menu to order additional drinks and snacks. Not all the loungers have padding so I would recommend getting there early to get a padded lounger. The change room by the entrance/reception is tiny so I would recommend rather using the bigger change room by the pool. Bring your own slippers or flip flops but remember this spa is outdoors so there will be soil. Overall a wonderful experience!
