Not sure why it took me so long to visit Faber. It was a very rainy Sunday but the fire was lit and the dining room was very cosy You can do a tasting menu but everything is available à la carte. Service was very good. All the estate wines are available, with a good variety by the glass. But also a much wider wine list. We chose a Pinot Noir from Elgin Food is country style fine dining. Good selection across the menu. I went with the tamarind and ginger glazed pork belly. Followed by the pan roasted blesbok loin with baby onions, onion purée, charred broccoli and green peppercorn jus. We didn’t have room for a dessert Service was excellent and I shall definitely be back in summer to sit on the terrace
Faber is hands down my favourite restaurant in the Western Cape. Every visit just confirms it again. The food is exceptional, the service is sharp without ever feeling stiff, and the setting is nothing short of a dream. What I really appreciate is that this place actually gets fine dining: it’s not about unnecessary show, but about great food, a well-trained team, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay just a little longer. It’s the kind of place you keep coming back to—and recommending to anyone who will listen.
A really great experience. The atmosphere is charming and the food was simply amazing. We had de 6 courses menu and highly recommend it without any doubt. The service also was really attentive since they even moved us to another table so we could enjoy the experience even more :)
The attention to detail is impressive from the glass of bubbles put into our hands the moment we stepped in. We were highly recommended by our hostess to eat dinner here & it lived up to the recommendation. Food was beautifully presented and wonderfully cooked. And we will be back!
