Swartland Winery is a winery in Malmesbury producing red, white, sparkling, and fortified wines. Our tasting selection includes varietals ranging from Chenin Blanc, Carignan, and Bukettraube to multiple styles of Pinotage, Moscato, and Jerepigo.
Guests can sit outdoors under umbrellas or take a seat indoors beside the fireplace. Our kitchen prepares burgers, bitterballen, and cheese and meat platters featuring local cheeses, alongside wine tastings.
We are open Monday through Saturday and closed on Sundays.
I was just AMAZING 🥂🍷❣️
Even sunny winter days you can sit outside enjoying the most amzing views under umbrella at your table whilst sipping on the tastiest of wines.
For a cozy winter days there is a cozy fireplace indoors with more seatings. This a real gem to run to from the city life

Honestly, if you aren't there for the wine, go for a burger. Thick and delicious patties - R80! And coming from Paarl, these were the best and most affordable bitterballen I have had - R58. Enjoyed the wine tasting - several ranges to choose from: R50 for 5 tastings. Great Pinotage from their top range.

The social media for the absolutely wonderful Swartland Winery does it no justice. We decided to visit the Swartland Open Day for the soup and wine tasting, and it was simply wonderful. The chicken soup paired with the Chenin Blanc was exceptional!
We enjoyed the warmest of welcomes and an absolutely excellent wine tasting. Swartland Wineries have something for every palate, from the dry to the sweet wine lovers. We particularly enjoyed the Carignan, which was delicious and wonderful value for money. The unusual varietals like Bukettraube deserve such a shout-out - what a find! We need to hear more about these as well as the Moscato and Jerepigo. What other vineyard can also offer you four different types of Pinotage?
If you are looking for a broad range of wonderful tasting options, then Swartland Wineries is your new destination of choice. The cheese and meat platter with an offering of local cheese was also a delight and super value for money. The views are wonderful, the service warm and knowledgeable, and the wines delicious.
This is a destination for South Africans looking for local wines at local prices with an international flavour. We need to support wine farms like these that offer an authentic SA flavour - not the internationally funded glass box tasting rooms in tourist hot spots that offer average wines at inflated prices. Swartland Wineries is the real deal - please let your social managers know this and not use the ‘cookie-cutter’ approach to your online presence. You are so much more than this! We will be back for more - thank you for a wonderful afternoon.
