Exceptional wines and an exceptional tasting experience hosted by the wine maker and members of the family. This is not Off The Record, but very much On The REcord! Many reviewers have waxed lyrical on their visit to Paul Wallace Family Wines, and most of them begin with: " If you are ever in the Elgin area......." I beg to differ, if you are a wine lover you should make a special trip to Paul Wallace Family Wines for the most wonderful tasting experience. We arrived early on an overcast Saturday, and were welcomed upon arrival by Paul and his wife Nicky. The tasting room is unassuming, it is not a corporate venue designed to impress, it is the home of these wonderful wines that Paul, Bobby and family create. The wines will impress!!!! You are welcomed into their home created specially for an intimate wine tasting experience. The property is a few kilometers from the road and accessed by a country road through the vineyards. Paul welcomed us in and the wonderful exposure to these special wines began. Unfortunately Nicky had business to attend to and during the tasting we got to meet son Bobby who is also a wine maker, bottles were opened, glasses were continuously filled and stories were shared about the farm and all the wines created there. The family are so passionate about each of the products they create. Their wines are truly special and each one is unique from the bottle to the label to the taste! Paul Nicky and Bobby are so welcoming and after you have been there for a while, you feel like you have made new friends. Lets not talk about the labradors, who also come in and want to make you feel at home. We bought each of the wines created there to take home. We will definitely be back for more. In short, please! don't just go there on a whim if you are in the area, take a special trip to taste and experience incredible wines, created by winemakers passionate about their creations, and masters of their craft.
