Really enjoyed our dinner at Le Coin Francais. The food was definitely the highlight. Every dish was beautifully presented, full of flavour and really well balanced. Nothing felt too heavy or overpowering, and each course had its own character while still feeling refined and elegant. The service was excellent and attentive throughout the evening. Great atmosphere, great wine and an overall really memorable dinner. Would definitely recommend.

Hands down Franschhoek's best kept secret! The food is absolutely phenomenal. A hidden gem! To be honest, the last time I was this impressed with a restaurant in Franschhoek, was at The Tasting Room at Le Quartier France, under Margot Jansen... Le coin's chef wowed with every bite. As another reviewer commented so accurately - one often just stops between bites to really enjoy the flavor. The service is friendly, attentive and professional. It's clear that all the staff are proud to be part of the team. I've said it numerous times over the years eating at noteworthy fine dine restaurants - Taste and texture are king, then, if you want, bring on the Instagram-able shenanigans. I loath places where the food looks amazing in fotos, but tastes bland, uninspired and unbalanced. It takes incredible talent to balance all aspects of a dish - sweet, sour, bitter, salt, umami, and texture. Le Coin's chef does it masterfully! In fact, I can not remember when last I enjoyed a multi course tasting meal, where EVERY COURSE is so incredibly good. Without exception, at most fine dining experiences, I feel that a few of the courses were not as good as the other, or could have been skipped altogether. Today was a first for me - after all the various courses we enjoyed, I could not think of one course that did not wow me, nor think of one that were better than any of the others... Each unique, tasty, seriously good!! From the Parmesan espuma complementing the perfectly prepared Beef's incredible jus, to the insanely good yellow tail pastrami, shaved apple, and perfectly paired yuzu sauce - deeply satisfying! Well done Chef! Too many establishments nowadays focus too much on the photo that can be posted, and way too little on the reason why I visit a restaurant... First and foremost, I come to eat, taste, smell, not to look - no photo or video captures taste and smell, yet we often make decisions for eating based on a photo.... We will be back soon - please keep up the tasty, unpretentious food, fantastic service and well balanced food-to-cost ratio!!

We had a fantastic night here. This restaurant is probably one of the best value for money fine dining experiences I have had. Sadly, Franschhoek and this restaurant have been affected negatively due to the war in Iran, and thus everywhere is less busy due to cancellations at present. Despite this, all staff put on the best possible performance for the night. We opted for the tasting menu, and it was a fantastic journey through multiple courses that celebrated South Africas fantastic produce. The sommelier picked out excellent pairings of local wines, and the wait staff did a great job in explaining all dishes. I would happily dine here again and I hope to see the restaurant going from strength to strength in the future once the world is more peaceful again.

A very dedicated crew serves a solid and also innovative lunch or dinner with a well thought of wine pairing. My first but for sure not last visit to this Franschhoek restaurant.

Le Coin Franscais had been on my list for a while. With their listing on restaurant week, it was a beckoning. The menu comprises an exceptional 7 course affair, with a extensively curated wine list. Service was attentive, and the courses were well paced over a duration of two hours. While each course was carefully designed, the top of the list for me was the langoustine. Highly recommended.
