The Constantia Wine Walk with Harley was truly one of the most special experiences of our trip. It’s so much more than a wine tasting. It’s a sip-and-stroll storytelling journey through one of the most beautiful wine regions in South Africa. We started right in the middle of the vineyards with a delicious Steenberg sparkling wine and a warm pastel de nata. Honestly, what a dreamy way to begin. Standing between the vines, surrounded by mountains, with a glass of bubbles in hand… it immediately set the tone for the day. From there, you walk scenic private vineyard trails to three iconic estates: Groot Constantia, Klein Constantia and Buitenverwachting. In total, you taste 10 wines and finish with a fantastic harvest platter lunch at Buitenverwachting. We were a group of four, joined by two lovely South Africans, which made it such a fun and relaxed group. But the real highlight is Harley. She is an absolutely brilliant storyteller. You learn so much about the history of Constantia, the VOC era and the hidden stories behind the estates. Far beyond what you’d ever hear during a standard tasting. She’s funny, engaging and never boring for a second. The walk itself is beautiful and easy to do, and honestly, we wouldn’t have minded walking even more because the surroundings are just stunning. If you’re visiting Cape Town and love wine, history and being outdoors, this is an absolute must. Highly recommended.

Constantia Glen, Cape Town – Fantastic wine tasting & beautiful vineyards Visited Constantia Glen in Cape Town’s Constantia Valley for an afternoon wine tasting and it was a highlight of our trip. The estate is gorgeous with amazing views over the vineyards and mountains — perfect for a relaxed afternoon. We did a tasting of 6 wines (3 whites and 3 reds), and every glass was high quality. The wines showcase the best of Constantia’s cool-climate style — crisp, vibrant whites and smooth, elegant reds that were easy to enjoy. The person hosting our tasting was super knowledgeable and friendly, took time to talk through each wine and explain what we were tasting — made the whole experience informative and fun. We also ate a delicious cheese board from the deli, which paired perfectly with the wine and was great for unwinding while enjoying the views. If you’re searching for one of the best wine tasting experiences near Cape Town, Constantia Glen is definitely worth a visit — excellent wines, beautiful surroundings, and great service

What a wonderful experience! We spent a delightful three hours here. We did the winemaking tour with the wine tasting and chocolate pairing afterwards. It was an amazing experience. Our tour guide, Nathaniel, made us feel like honoured guests, and he made the whole wine tour and tasting informative and fun. During the wine tasting after the tour, we got to sample 5 unique wines, each one paired with a delicious strip of chocolate. My favourite was the Pinotage. There was a little surprise extra taste of the dessert wine, so actually 6 glasses of wine! We got to keep our wine glasses as souvenirs after the tasting. We explored the Groot Constantia Museum and surrounds as well, before we left. There are a couple of eateries dotted around the winery, but we did not stay for a meal as we had to get somewhere else, however we had a quick look at the menus at Jonkershuis and Simon's and they looked amazing, and affordable. A visit to this picturesque and historic place is highly recommended. We visited at the start of May 2025, outside of the busy tourist season, so we were able to simply walk in and get tickets when we arrived. I would suggest it would be better to book in advance during busier times. Unfortunately, the tour is not wheelchair accessible, as there are 3 flights of steps to climb when the tour starts. This is just an observation, and it didn't affect our group.

A really fun few hours I'm a beautiful setting and immense value for money. This day out costed around £7pp (gbp). For thar small sum of money we strolled the picturesque grounds, had a small 30 minute guided tour of the active & working winery, then had a wine tasting experience of up to 5 wines each. We also got to keep out glasses as a souvenir. There are a couple of charming little eateries on site too which we took advantage of to line the stomach. With SA being SA I need not have to tell you how good the food was for relatively little cost. I'd definitely recommend. However the tour is not wheelchair accessible so be warned... there are 3 flights of steps
