Handcrafted Méthode Cap Classique in Hout Bay
Absolutely fantastic winery creating, in my opinion, some of the best bubbly in all of SA. The closest thing I could compare some of their offerings to is Moet - only this is better to my mind. I didn't get the chance to visit the winery this time, but did drink their bubbles in Cape Town at Luuma, and ordered a case of 6 bottles as a result. Their communication over email was genuinely superb. Highly recommended!
As Hout Bay locals, we really wanted to have Ambeloui at our wedding at Suikerbossie in May 2025. We held our own tasting party at home to pick the best bubbly for the day, and it was genuinely hard to choose. They are all so good! In the end, we opted for the Ceri 2018, and our family and friends were mightily impressed with this delicious MCC. Open day spent with great company under brollies and trees. Delicious food and bubbly! Definitely a must do day on the annual calendar. Bubbly available throughout the year either online or by appointment (if I'm not mistaken.)
The most enjoyable wine cellar to visit on their open days and harvest festival days. Greek food and some great MCC sparkling wines ranging from 2 years to 6 years vintage. Beautiful venue with shaded seating all through the vineyard and around the house.
