Vineyard tours and tastings over the Douro

About

Quinta do Bomfim is a family-owned vineyard in Pinhão overlooking the Douro. We welcome guests for tours of our estate, visits to our wine cellar, and tastings on our outdoor terrace.

Beautiful and complete experience. Our tasting and guide gave us everything we needed to know about the facilities and wines/ports produced. Excellent! Would recommend

We visited Quinta do Bonfim for a tour and tasting, just two days after doing the tour and tasting at Graham’s Lodge in Porto, so we had a very recent comparison. The tour at Quinta do Bonfim was more concise than the one at Graham’s, but I actually found the explanations about the equipment and the processes involved in harvesting and maceration particularly interesting. It gave us a good understanding of how the Port is produced without making the tour feel overly long. The tasting room was another highlight. The view over the Douro Valley is spectacular and, in my opinion, considerably better than the setting at Graham’s Lodge in Porto. Overall, I would rate the Quinta do Bonfim experience higher than Graham’s. The tour is concise but informative, the setting is beautiful, and the tasting room offers an outstanding view of the Douro. Definitely a worthwhile experience if you are visiting the valley.

They get many stars from my end. The locations is percent and there’s a beautiful balcony Terrance where you can sit with a view. The tours offered were wonderful and informative. You can also just come in and do the tasting. The staff were all lovely and accommodating. I’d suggest if you want the tours, buy tickets ahead of time online.

Quinta do Bomfim is a wine tasting place that also housed a museum and has its own cellar and wine tour. A stone throw away from the Pinhao traim station, it takes a 10 min walk to arrive. What I like most about this place is anyone can visit the museum and take a walk in its vineyard without having to do the wine tasting. We went for the port wine tasting and it did not disappoint. Unlike other vineyard which can be quite far from the train station and hence require an advance booking and reservation, it is so close to the train station. The scene by the Duoro River made this visit even more memorable.

Such a lovely time doing a tasting and exploring the grounds! We drove our rental car and were able to park here while we explored the rest of the town. Everyone was very pleasant and of course the wine was wonderful. The only thing I would say is the tour felt a little rushed. Need med more time while exploring the beautiful grounds.
