Akarua Winery & Cellar Door is a winery in Cromwell situated along Cairnmuir Road in Bannockburn. Part of Edmond de Rothschild Heritage, our estate vineyards are managed through regenerative viticulture and organic farming practices. Visitors can book guided cellar door tastings Monday through Friday, sampling Central Otago varietals such as chardonnay and sauvignon blanc. Tasting flights include options like our Discovery Tasting and Pioneer Tasting. We also offer vineyard tours by car for up to four people, exploring our Bannockburn terroir followed by a seated tasting.

We had a fantastic tasting session here with the very friendly and informative Pauline, we had fun discussing the wine with her. All the wines were very well made and in our opinion a notch above some of the other more well known wineries in the immediate area. Yes, you do need to book in advance but they are very accommodating with last minute requests, so it is certainly worth getting in touch. Thanks for a great start to our Bannockburn wine tasting odyssey!

Without question - our FAVORITE winery in the entire area. This is not the lunch place that people have been reviewing on here, so please check the reviews to see if the review matches the property before passing judgement-- because you will not want to miss this amazing winery. We have traveled the world for wine tasting and I must say that this one rivals any place we have been. This is not your touristy winery - this one really takes great pride in serving great wine. A very special experience! I loved everything about Akarua Winery!

I visited Akarua Winery as one of my stops on the Queenstown Winery Tour with my friends. A lovely atmosphere with great wines. A very picturesque place for some great photos
