About

Château Romanin is a winery in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence situated along the northern slopes of the Alpilles. Our 250-hectare estate sits at the foot of 13th-century Templar castle ruins and includes 58 hectares of vineyards, four hectares of olive trees, and almond groves. Our wine production operates under the organic AOP Les Baux-de-Provence appellation, crafting red, white, and rosé wines, with red wines making up half of our production. The property features an underground cellar and storage cave built directly into the mountain rock. We host guided estate tours and wine tastings that explain the winemaking process and the history of the site.

An unforgettable wine tour and tasting in the most stunning setting. My fiancée, my parents and I visited Château Romanin for a wine tour and tasting, and it was genuinely one of the highlights of our trip to Provence. The vineyard itself is breathtaking, set beautifully within the Alpilles, with incredible views across the surrounding landscape. It is the kind of place that feels special before the tour has even started. We were lucky enough to have Hugo as our guide, who was absolutely brilliant. He spent around two hours with us, sharing the fascinating story of the château and its extraordinary building, which is built into the mountain, as well as giving us a detailed understanding of the winemaking process from start to finish. We had plenty of questions, and Hugo answered every one with real knowledge, patience and depth, while still keeping the tour relaxed, fun and full of laughs. His information, warmth and charisma made the whole experience feel incredibly personal and memorable. The wine tasting at the end, with beautiful wines and stunning views over Provence, was the perfect finish. Château Romanin is an incredible venue, and Hugo made the experience truly special. We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Saint-Rémy or the surrounding area.

Absolutely wonderful tour of winery and cave. Reservations a must if you want a tour. The place is a short drive from Saint-Remy, but there’s a bit of unpaved road so give yourself plenty of time to get there. Built into the side of a mountain using really interesting architectural techniques, the tour was really informative. The space is beautiful and leads to great views. Wine is really good and tasting includes a spirit and olive oil.
